Corex Logistics conceived and organized the first event in a series of business breakfasts with a focus on clinical trial logistics. It took place in a trendy restaurant venue in the center of Moscow. The main goal of the event was to raise the most controversial and challenging issues in the area of logistics that pharma professionals face while conducting clinical trials in the post-Soviet bloc.

COREX invited the speakers who were able to address the topic from different perspectives - that of the regulator, an independent auditor, a CRO and a clinical logistics specialist.

The speakers panel included:

  • Sergey Glagolev, Roszdravnadzor, who gave a comprehensive update  on the new legal requirements in clinical trial logistics;
  • Vladimir Krechikov, Business Development Director at CROMOS Pharma, who lead a discussion on the cost of errors in clinical trial logistics;
  • Maxim Minkov, COREX Project Manager, , who addressed the logistical challenges of start-up activities   and offered practical solutions;
  • Eugene Rogov, an independent GCP/GLP auditor, a well-known personality in the pharma community, who moderated the event. Eugene presented on quality aspects of clinical trials.

The logistics breakfast was attended by over 60 representatives of big pharma and CRO companies, including Abbott, NovaMedica, Novartis, R-Pharm, Stada, Takeda, and many others. The guests had an opportunity to engage in open debates on latest trends and industry news. Over breakfast, such issues as comparators sourcing, cold chain management and compliance with GCP/GDP standards were addressed. Challenges in obtaining an adequate insurance for cold chain supply became one of the hottest topicsfor the audience. Many guests confirmed that they faced claim denial from insurance companies in cases of temperature deviations during cold chain transportation. It was agreed that the insurance aspects relating to temperature sensitive shipments should be discussed at the next meeting where representatives of insurance companies will be invited.

Overall the event was a smashing success and we couldn’t be happier with its outcomes. The turnout was amazing, and the questions and the discussion was stimulating and engaging. The positive feedback that we have already received from the participants has solidified our determination to continue this important initiative.
We are confident that bringing together and giving a discussion platform to pharma experts, service and logistics providers will drive positive changes and improve performance in the clinical trial logistics industry in our region.
