Distribution Deal

In a boost to consumer healthcare in Georgia and Kazakhstan, two major industry players have signed an agreement on the direct distribution of over-the-counter products.

International pharmaceutical company STADA  will carry out the direct distribution and marketing support of Sanofi’s drug portfolio in 10 Eurasian countries from the spring of 2023.

Over-the-counter medications will include pain medications, therapeutic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antifungal and antiallergic drugs already popular in the region.

As well as Georgia and Kazakhstan, the deal will cover Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan directly, without intermediary countries.

“This cooperation is very welcome” says Nana Pekhmashvili, COREX Country Head in Georgia. “It brings Georgia very much in line with the rest of Europe where STADA already distributes tried and trusted brands, making them accessible to pharmacists and consumers alike.”

Country Head in Kazakhstan, Natalie  Andriyevskaya  agrees. “It’s good news for Kazakhstan too. Great to see that the head office of the Eurasian region of STADA will remain in Almaty - it’s a great boost for our steadily-growing pharmaceutical industry.”
